PHRYGIA. Apameia. Circa 166-133 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 28 mm, 12.67 g, 12 h), circa 150-140. Cista mystica from which snake coils; all within Dionysiac wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; to left, monogram of AΠ; to right, head of an elephant to right. Kleiner & Noe Series 12, 28e. A lovely, sharp and lightly toned piece. Good very fine.
